UNLICENSED PRODUCTION & DISTRIBUTION OF SLOT
MACHINES GOES UNCHALLENGED BY STATE OFFICIALS.

NCALG NEWS CONFERENCE OCTOBER 18, 1998

Infinity Group, Inc. which is located at 6001 Midway Park, Albuquerque, has been manufacturing and distributing electronic gaming devices for at least several years. We know that they are doing this without a license from the state, because we have checked with the New Mexico Gaming Control Board, which has issued no licenses to any group to manufacture or distribute electronic gaming devices. Section 31 of the Gaming Control Act portion of HB-399 says it is "unlawful" for anyone on New Mexico soil to manufacture electronic gaming devices without a license. Section 32 says that a license is also necessary to distribute these devices whether in or out of the state. Infinity Group has no license from the state to do either, so it is breaking New Mexico state law. The New Mexico Coalition Against Gambling requests that appropriate state authorities speedily close down Infinity Group, Inc., and prosecute those responsible for violation of state law.
